![]() ![]() ![]() Ninja Council 4 covers the plot of the first season of Shippuden. (See my review of Naruto: Path of the Ninja 2 to see what I mean.) With one of the few stories not told to death by Naruto games in the states, can the game overcome the stigma of Naruto games on the DS, which have been less than stellar. Ninja Council 4 brings the series back to its platforming roots and is also the first game in the series to take place in the Shippuden time line. The exception was Ninja Council 3, which followed a mission based format with a series of one on X amount of character encounters. The Ninja Council series has generally focused on traversing through a number of heavy platforming levels followed by a boss fight. This includes the Ninja Council series, which started on the GBA and has is now celebrating its second entry on the NDS. While most of them are fighting games, there are a few series that break the trend. I tried, and I missed four of five of them while still hitting well over double digits. The film is produced by two-time Emmy® winner Marc Platt (“Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert,” “Grease Live!”), Miranda, two-time Emmy winner John DeLuca (“Tony Bennett: An American Classic”), and Rob Marshall, with Jeffrey Silver (“The Lion King”) serving as executive producer. There are more Naruto games out there than I can count. The songs feature music from multiple Academy Award® winner Alan Menken (“Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin”) and lyrics by Howard Ashman, and new lyrics by three-time Tony Award® winner Lin-Manuel Miranda. ![]() ![]() “The Little Mermaid” is directed by Oscar® nominee Rob Marshall (“Chicago,” “Mary Poppins Returns”)with a screenplay by two-time Oscar nominee David Magee (“Life of Pi,” “Finding Neverland”). The film stars singer and actress Halle Bailey (“grown-ish”) as Ariel Jonah Hauer-King (“A Dog’s Way Home”) as Prince Eric Tony Award® winner Daveed Diggs (“Hamilton”) as the voice of Sebastian Awkwafina (“Raya and the Last Dragon”) as the voice of Scuttle Jacob Tremblay (“Luca”) as the voice of Flounder Noma Dumezweni (“Mary Poppins Returns”) as Queen Selina Art Malik (“Homeland”) as Sir Grimsby with Oscar® winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men”) as King Triton and two-time Academy Award® nominee Melissa McCarthy (“Can You Ever Forgive Me?” “Bridesmaids”) as Ursula. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. “The Little Mermaid” is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. D3 Publisher's getting Naruto: Ninja Council 3 for release this May. This customization comes in handy when you're playing in the multiplayer mode - two to four players can enter the arena in three different game modes, and it's hard to shake the feeling that the designers lifted inspiration from Smash Bros. On top of the 27 different characters that players can unlock and control, these characters can also be customized with special attacks snagged from other characters. The game's got a pretty cool level of customization. Some missions are a simple matter of defeating the onslaught of enemies, others require more specific criteria: in one mission, for example, you'll have to try and get a gigantic boulder from the bottom of the game map to the top.all the while trying to avoid getting hit and keeping the enemies from punching the massive rock back down to the ground. Naruto: Ninja Council 3, developed by Aspect, is a brawler/fighter hybrid where players romp through more than sixty different missions of kick, punch, and jumping action. Though there's already editions of the series in Japan that are further along than Naruto: Ninja Council 3, D3 Publisher's keeping with the characters and the storyline that's already established for the US audiences - the anime series is several jumps ahead of what we get, and these guys don't want to ruin any surprises or reveals. ![]()
